Hello from Integra International

Sometimes our world appears to be turning upside down. That can be a scary proposition. Now is one of those times. There will be new governments in many countries in 2017, and changes in tax, and in audit and accounting rules.  New lease rules are in the not too distant future. Combined with the changes in the revenue recognition rules, a wealth of opportunity awaits for all of us to enjoy. For as I have learned, with change comes opportunity. The sooner we realize this, the sooner we can get ahead of the curve and ahead of the competition.

This may be hard for some firms to grasp, as they might think of themselves as small, and without a way to compete and get ahead of the game. But that is why we joined Integra isn’t it? We can work together to take advantage of the opportunities that lay ahead.

In Cape Town, South Africa, we recently had a wonderful conference in October. There we met Cresa Real Estate, a new partner that has the tools to help us get our hands around the lease rules. Already, there is one engagement in San Diego. Also, my firm is meeting with law firms and banks to get referrals for more engagements. Not only are we able to take on this new consulting work, but we are out there as thought leaders, while many professional firms have no idea what the lease rules mean and what it will take to conform to them.

Many Integra firms are working together to expand their services. Brian Hunter (Detroit) and David Borg (Malta) are working on identifying new services that our firms can provide to our customers and prospective customers.

We are also working on improving our website, in order to facilitate communications and assist with business opportunities between members. We hope to have the enhanced website ready by the end of the first quarter of 2017.

So in this the Holiday Season in much of the world, see the change in front of us, and let’s come together to take advantage of the opportunities that change offers.

May all of you have a wonderful and prosperous Holiday Season and New Year.

Warm Regards,

Doug White, CPA
