Mr. Chen co-founded the accounting firm Chen, Gordon y Asociados with Gustavo Gordon Lay in July 28, 1977.  Since then he has been engaged in the practice of accounting and is presently a senior partner of the firm.

He has an extensive practice and experience, his expertise in accounting matters has been used in various penal, civil, labor, taxation and arbitration processes.

Luis Chen is currently a member of Junta Tecnica de Contabilidad which regulates the accounting profession in the Republic of Panama, position he has held on several occasions.  He is currently the President of the Federation of Professional Associations of Panama (FEDAP) which entitles him to be a member of the National Council of College Evaluation and Accreditation of Panama (Coneupa).
